Siding and drywall!

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!  That is what my high school band director taught me.  As you know, I am pretty shy and also pretty much a doormat.  You could walk all over me and I would smile and be like "ok cool, what else can I do for you?"  But after they told us that we would likely be moving in more than a month later than we were originally told, I got a little bold.  I told them that we had no place to go and would have to live in a hotel for 3 weeks and I told them that I work from home and would have no way of working.  (A little bit of a white lie, I could probably drive into Robinson but I hate the parkway).  They got back to me and moved our closing day to November 5th!!!!!  So only 2 or 3 nights in a hotel.  We still have to move all of our stuff into storage for a few days which is extremely inconvenient, but it is what it is.  I will take it!

We snuck into the house again tonight!  They have been busy since I lit a fire under their hineys.  We have some siding up and they poured the cement for my front porch that I have always wanted!  Drywall is up too!  Electrical is all done.

We have been busy signing 10 thousand documents too.  Our appraisal came back and it appraised for what we paid, so I think that's good?  We locked in our interest rate which isn't as low as it was when we refinanced our first house years ago, but it is what it is.  All in all, our house payment will be about a thousand more a month than it is now. Jinkies.

Here are some pics!

The whole front porch will be stone.  That is what is sitting in front of the house.  The front door will eventually be a dark gray to match the shutters (that are not on yet obviously)

Fresh cement!  Really resisted the urge to put our initials in it!

When I was little and would visit my uncle in Florida, he had windows like this. I always said I wanted "Florida windows" one day.  And now I have one!

A close up of the siding color. It is called Irish Thistle and I LOVE it

Ben writing his name in the dust on the window.  This is upstairs hallway.  We upgraded to the wooden balisters where the wood is now instead of a solid wall.  I am so glad I switched thst, I really would have regretted it.  (Thanks mom, she pushed me to, dad said no haha)
